Lee (R-UT) 03/23/2023: Twitter thread – “I don't know ANYONE who “doesn't want the children of America to learn about the Holocaust.” Not one. Link to quoted tweetThis is an outrageous lie! Hakeem Jeffries: "Extreme MAGA Republicans don't want the children of America to learn about the Holocaust." (Link to twitter.com) And yet the House Democratic Leader somehow suggests that Holocaust deniers are commonplace among Republicans. Tragically, there are undoubtedly people alive today who to their own eternal shame deny the Holocaust, and it's certainly possible that some of them identify as Republicans. I have never met ANY of those people, whom he wrongly describes as quite common in the Republican Party. Hakeem Jeffries owes all Republicans an apology. Link to reply@BasedMikeLee Then why do you accept the support of Holocaust deniers and Nazi lovers? Disavow them by name and the names of their organizations. You might mention DeSantis, who does not stand up to avowed Nazis in his own state and is just fine with banning books like Diary of Ann Frank. @JohnSaffron100 What support have I received from “Holocaust deniers and Nazi lovers”? Link to reply@BasedMikeLee You individually & you plural as in GOP - Proud Boys, David Duke, Steve Scalise, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, Steve King, Arthur Jones, DeSantis-as mentioned, Nick Fuentes. Ask ADL & other Jewish organizations worldwide what they think of you & the party you proudly represent. @JohnSaffron100 Me individually? From whom? Link to reply@BasedMikeLee Many white nationalist groups that conservatives have been aligning with recently hold the belief that the Holocaust is fake or exaggerated but you know that. @RSinsights If they're aligning with white nationalists or denying the Holocaust, they're not conservatives. Nice try. Broadly smearing Republicans as racists and Holocaust deniers isn't just a dishonest way to score cheap political points. It cynically numbs some ears to genuine accusations of racism & sometimes might even be used to justify acts of violence against those you defame.
