Gosar (R-AZ-4) 12/20/2022: Twitter thread – “More than two months into FY2023 and in the dark hours of the early morning, Congressional appropriators unveiled their egregiously wasteful omnibus spending plan that includes another $45 billion of hardworking American taxpayer dollars to fund a proxy war in Ukraine. (1/15) Commenting on the budget “deal,” Senator Mitch McConnell stated that the “number one priority of the United States” is to send another $45 billion to Ukraine to defend its borders. I have news for @LeaderMcConnell: America has 99 problems but the Ukraine ain't one. (2/15) Over five million illegals in two years and counting have broken our laws and illegally entered our country. Fentanyl continues to pour in, killing more than 100,000 Americans last year. (3/15) Inflation is rampant. Real wages are in decline. We have, for the first time since World War II, shortages of items and supply chain problems. We have record crime in many cities across the United States. (4/15) The Department of Justice is being weaponized. The FBI is engaged in illegal censorship and political persecution. We have a monopoly of Big Tech companies that engage in collusion with the FBI to censor, and punish, political dissidents. (5/15) We have the most direct evidence of political corruption contained on Joe Biden's son's laptop revealing illegal bribes from Ukraine and other governments, suppressed by the very law enforcement agencies charged with investigating these crimes. (6/15) We have broken families and a confused young populace wondering if they are a boy or girl and a sustained effort to eliminate Jesus Christ from our public sphere. We have men pretending to be women simply to win at sports. (7/15) We have failing infrastructure across our land. We have a crisis of confidence in our government and a two-tiered legal system, akin to an apartheid state, that defines anarcho-tyranny. (8/15) We have elections in which both democrats and Republicans agree are riddled with incompetence, fraud, or both. We have a completely rigged system with election interference by the DOJ and the FBI against American citizens and against President Trump in particular. (9/15) We have inept public health officials who are responsible for malpractice on a scale never seen before resulting in over 100,000 deaths due to COVID-19 malpractice or due to an untested rushed vaccine that caused more harm than it prevented. (10/15) We have a failed military leadership that is preoccupied with promoting homosexuality and cross-dressing, and got its butt handed to it in a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan where we left men and women behind as well as over $80 billion in top notch military equipment. (11/15) We are broke, broken and over $31 trillion in debt and counting. (12/15) Yet the Omnibus bill failed to remedy a single one of these very real problems. Not one. In fact, it rewards the DOJ, the FBI and the failed military leadership with more money and no reforms and no investigations. Not a dime is allocated towards securing our own border. (13/15) These comments by a Republican are an insult to the American people that Mitch McConnell fails to represent. This is the epitome of America Last. In all my travels across Arizona, not one of my constituents said that defending Ukraine should be our top priority. Not one. (14/15) Congress should be looking at ways to solve the very real problems within our own borders. For these reasons, I will be voting against this bill when it is considered on the House floor later this week. America First. (15/15)”

Bishop (R-NC-9) 12/20/2022: Twitter thread – “My team and I are reading through the omnibus bill today - all $1.7 trillion and 4,155 pages of it. Follow along for some of the most egregious provisions in the bill ⬇️ It expressly prohibits CBP funding from being used to improve border security. Link to image ...but at the same time, allocates $410 million towards border security for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman. America Last in action. Link to image And, of course, $1,438,000,000 for membership in global multilateral organizations, including the UN. Link to image The word "salmon" appears 48 times in the bill. Link to image $65 million for salmon? Seems fishy. Link to image 🐝 $3 million for bee-friendly highways, & another $5 million for the salmon. Talk about a buzzkill. Link to image And lest the other fish feel left out of the spending spree, here's $65.7 million for international fisheries commissions. Perhaps President Bush was onto something when he said "I know the human being and the fish can coexist peacefully." Link to image On a more sinister note, here's at least $575 million for "family planning" in areas where population growth "threatens biodiversity." Malthusianism is a disturbing, anti-human ideology that should have ZERO place in any federal program. Link to image $65 million in two programs for Senator Leahy, and a federal building named for Nancy Pelosi. Swamp gonna Swamp. Link to image Here are just a handful of the many earmarks in the bill, including $3.6 million for the "Michelle Obama Trail." Link to image A few more earmarks: $477k for "antiracist" training from the Equity Institute $3 million for the LGBTQ+ museum in NYC $1.2 million in "services for DACA recipients" $4.1 million in various career programs for one of the richest counties in the US (Fairfax) Link to image If an additional $47 billion in Ukraine funding isn't enough for you, the bill also authorizes a "Ukrainian Independence Park" right here in DC. Link to image Also, monuments for journalists and service animals... Link to image The bill also renames 25 post offices, in addition to the dozens we've already renamed this session. I'm amazed that we haven't run out of post offices to rename yet. It's bound to happen eventually. Link to image $524.4 million for a DEI and "structural racism" focused NIH subdivision - Structural Racism and Discrimination... | nimhd.nih.gov Link to image $300k per year for the Continuous Plankton Recorder. Chump change compared to the rest of this bill! Link to image Of course, there's a section for NDAA corrections - another gargantuan bill that passed in a rush. Because God forbid that Congress actually proofread legislation before passing it! Link to image Gender programs in Pakistan and a $200 million for a Gender Equity Fund. Link to image Last year's administrative expenses for the vax injury trust fund were $13.2 million - now it's $15.2 million. That's a 15% increase. Anticipating a 15% increase in vaccine injuries? It also authorizes "sums as may be necessary" for vaccine injury/death claims. Link to image $335,000,000 to prepare for an influenza pandemic! Including the use of surveillance tools. Link to image $7.5 million to better understand the "domestic radicalization phenomenon," plus $1 million for gun violence research. These research programs are often a smokescreen for violating civil liberties down the road. Link to image $535 million for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which indirectly funds NPR via grants. Link to image This provision nearly doubles the 66,000 available H2B visas (temporary low-skilled workers). The H2B program is highly prone to abuse and hurts American workers. Link to image $11.33 billion for the FBI. $1.75 billion for the ATF. & $2.63 billion for US Attorneys, with an emphasis on J6 prosecutions and domestic terrorism cases. All with significant increases from the previous year. Did you know that the House of Representatives has an Office of Diversity and Inclusion? It's set to receive nearly $26 million in taxpayer dollars. Link to image Also included in the bill: Regulations on cosmetics, changes to horseracing rules, and the Electoral Count Act. Everything but the kitchen sink. Link to image $286 million in Title X funding, which funds Planned Parenthood. Link to image $70 million for minority business development - an increase of $15 million from Fy22. Link to image The omnibus was released around 2am today. The Senate is voting now to begin debate on the bill. To have read the entire bill by now, you would've needed to read 4+ pages per minute, without a single break, for 16 hours straight. What a farce. More earmarks: $750k for the "TransLatin@ Coalition" $2.35 million in improvement/maintenance for the Iditarod Trail $1.5 million for the restoration of the Albany, NY city hall $400k for the "Racial Justice Improvement Project" Link to image By the way, the hundreds of pages of earmarks aren't even included in the main omnibus bill. You have to view them on a separate website. We're working through those documents as well, including a breakdown of total earmark $$$ by party. Link to reply@RepDanBishop @officialukay9 So what's your fucking point Dan? @SteveWoodsmall @officialukay9 Earmarks are bad for America. We're back for day two of the omnibus breakdown. The FBI is getting a new, $375 million HQ - final location TBD. Look for that to be a fight next Congress. Retiring Senator Shelby already has several buildings named after him - this adds an FBI training center to the list. Link to image In addition to a federal building, Nancy Pelosi also gets a fellowship program for foreign service. Link to image The bill creates a pandemic czar, adding to our already bloated bureaucracy and giving the gov't even more avenues to stifle civil liberties in the name of "public health." Link to image The EPA gets $10.1 billion, an increase of $576 million above FY22. It includes $108 million for "Environmental Justice" activities. The bill also allocates $900 million for land acquisition and related programs. Doesn't the federal government own enough land already? Link to image $166 million for neighborhood reinvestment activities. $4 million for "shared equity housing models." The latter appears to be an idea from the World Economic Forum. Link to PDF | www3.weforum.org Link to image The Pentagon will get $8.6 million for "gender advisor programs." Make of that what you will. More earmarks: $6 million for Clemson University $982k for motel vouchers in LA $817k for partnerships with "justice-involved individuals" in Glendale, CA $2 million for "improving coordination" in the NYC Mayor's office Link to image”

We'll show you how: The bill gives DHS an additional $3.2 BILLION But it does NOTHING to force @SecMayorkas to secure the border - and explicitly prohibits CBP from doing it! Roy (R-TX-21) 12/21/2022: Twitter thread – “THREAD: 21 Senators voted to proceed to the $1.7 trillion omnibus - & to spend billions we do not have, empower Biden bureaucrats with no fixes, & block us from securing the border for at least 9 mos. Some are friends, one my former boss.. but unless… (1/13) #StandUpForAmerica Link to image …they change their vote on final passage, I don't care & will oppose their bills/priorities - & not for revenge, but b/c it's the only tool I have to pressure them to stop doing this to us. This vote is indefensible, & damaging to Texas. It takes away our leverage to… (2/13) …force Biden to secure the border & in fact specifically says new DHS money can only be used to process MORE people - which will lead to more fentanyl, violence, & death. For Texans, this alone is reason enough to oppose this terrible bill (cc: @JohnCornyn)… (3/13) …But the Chamber has always carried the day on border & immigration for the GOP, hasn't it? And now we face a deadly crisis, and they STILL can't act. They just say “well, it's the best we're going to do.” What do they mean by that? Well, @LeaderMcConnell told you it's… (4/13) …about getting $47BB more for Ukraine & 10% more “defense” spending. You think it's an accident that Zelensky is coming to Congress TODAY? Meanwhile, he & other @SenateGOP claim it's because House conservatives won't “govern.” To be clear - what that really means is… (5/13) …“defense spending - for us & Ukraine - trumps Americans' concerns about mounting debt, out-of-control bureaucrats, and wide open borders.” It means “we're the adults in the room, so sit down while we continue the status quo & cut big $ deals with Democrats… (6/13) …rather than even sit down with a new GOP majority & work it out among Republicans.” And when the swampsplaining starts - just know that it's going to be “five knuckleheads put the House leadership in doubt, so ignore what we're saying out loud about Ukraine & “defense…” (7/13) …but which is the chicken & which is the egg? The truth is, the 5 were objecting - & others of us have raised process / substantive questions - b/c this is ALWAYS how it's done. This is why we're almost $32 trillion in debt. This is why we have a woke Defense Dept… (8/13) …This is why the FBI, DHS, Intel, the NIH, the EPA - & every other federal agency accumulates such raw power to trample over Americans. MOST OF ALL, this is why we're still operating under 20 year authorizations of force in the middle east, after spending $4 trillion+… (9/13) …for wars, losing 7000 lives, & projecting over $1 trillion in vets care to come… now w/ weakened defense posture even as the borrowed money is catching up to us, w/ interest likely soon to eclipse swelling defense spending. All predictable. All predicted. All ignored… (10/13) …so here we are. The @SenateGOP failed to get a majority in November with both pathetic messaging & some bad candidates, & now want to blame the new @HouseGOP for being “unable to govern” when they just don't like the priorities we would debate & struggle with… (11/13) …because they represent the tired old #SwampGOP. They are who they are: war-first Republicans who give lip service to securing the border & stopping deficit spending during campaigns, yet are voting right now to support (fund) the opposite… (12/13) …It needn't be this way. The @HouseGOP majority, if allowed, could set a new tone in which we rebuild our military, project strength, & help our allies - but not at the expense of fiscal strength & protecting our own freedom & sovereignty at home. #StandUpForAmerica (13/13)”
