Roy (R-TX-21) 06/11/2022: Retweet of @VictoriaCoates – “It's grimly comical that now any Palestinian who wants to access this abomination will have to travel to Tel Aviv to do so. This administration does not seem to understand Israel's topography very well. Link to quoted tweet

Roy (R-TX-21) 06/11/2022: Retweet of @VictoriaCoates – “This is just the sort of unfortunate nonsense emboldened by the US decision to open a rump mission to the Palestinians—and it will result in a negative impact on the Palestinians. What a disgrace. Link to quoted tweet

Iran

Cohen (D-TN-9) 06/12/2022: Retweet of @RepCohen – “As the insurrection was occurring, I shouted to the Republicans: “Call Trump, tell him to call off his revolutionary guard.” It was as obvious then as it is now that Trump was responsible for inciting the attack and calling the shots. ⬇️@NYTimes from January 6, 2021 Link to image

Saudi Arabia

Donalds (R-FL-19) 06/12/2022: Tweet – “Biden doesn't need to travel to Saudi Arabia to lower gas prices. He needs to travel to AMERICAN states like Texas, North Dakota, New Mexico, Alaska, and Colorado and support their ability to enhance our energy capabilities. Iraq

Slotkin (D-MI-8) 06/12/2022: Twitter thread – “Yesterday, I joined brave young people in Lansing, leading the way on the issue of gun violence. This comes 3 days after I voted for the Protect Our Kids Act, which included my Safe Guns, Safe Kids bill to require gun owners to secure their weapons if there's a child in the home. Link to image It was particularly meaningful to have some members of the Oxford community there, representing as the Oxford march attracted more than 500 people. As someone who grew up in a gun-owning family and carried a Glock and an M4 during my 3 tours in Iraq alongside the military, I can tell you that it's a false choice to say you either believe in responsible gun ownership or believe in keeping our children safe. The good news is that I've heard from more hunters, sportsmen, and other responsible gun owners in the last two weeks than I have in the last 4 years. They know that keeping guns out of the hands of people with mental illness is critical. They can and should be allies in keeping our children safe, and we need their participation in this moment. Now all eyes turn to the Senate. As I told the crowd yesterday, I am ready to support any compromise — because moving the needle, even if it's not all one side wants, is still better then the paralysis we have today.

Yemen

Merkley (D-OR) 06/12/2022: Tweet – “This is a fine first step, but $10 million is not enough in the face of the humanitarian, environmental, and economic catastrophe that will occur if the FSO Safer explodes. I urge the Biden Administration to add sufficient funding to ensure we're able to prevent this disaster. Link to quoted tweetI announced on #WorldOceanDay that @StateDept, working w/ Congress, plans to provide $10 million to support @UN efforts to address imminent threats from the FSO Safer in Yemen to help prevent an oil spill or leak from damaging the Red Sea ecosystem & impeding global commerce.

Jewish, Anti-semitism

Bowman (D-NY-16) 06/12/2022: Tweet – “While unsurprising, it pains me that 205 Republican elected representatives could not condemn the racist, antisemitic, anti-asian, homophobic, islamophobic, xenophobic, and nativist replacement myth.

Afghanistan

Mast (R-FL-18) 06/11/2022: Tweet – “I guess Democrats in Washington no longer care about family separations. Our allies and partners deserve better. Thousands of Afghan families remain severed after messy U.S. exit... | washingtonpost.com

Shaheen (D-NH) 06/11/2022: Tweet – “I wrote the policy that established an ISIS Detainee Coordinator. Currently, the person in that job is also responsible for counterterrorism, a huge responsibility. We need a coordinator that is solely focused on securing ISIS detainees & working for their repatriation. Link to video
